Early education at Divisional Public School and Aitchison College Lahore Graduation from PAF Academy Risalpur and Masters from Punjab University Lahore. Awarded PhD by Quad i Azam University Islamabad for thesis on “Integration of Pakistani Immigrants in the Norwegian Society”
Joined Pakistan Air Force in 1977 and graduated from PAF Academy Risalpur in 1980 as a GD Pilot. Served in various Fighter Squadrons of PAF and flown F6 fighter, A5 ground attack and F-16 Multi role Aircraft. Remained Instructor Pilot in PAF Academy Risalpur and Fighter Conversion School Mianwali.
Joined Pakistan Administrative Service after CSS exam in 1990. Served as Assistant Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner in Balochistan and as Deputy Commissioner in Gilgit, Northern Areas. Served as PSO to Chief Minister Punjab and as PSO with three Prime Ministers of Pakistan. Had an opportunity of serving the overseas Pakistanis in Scandinavian countries as Community Welfare Councillor in Pakistan Embassy Norway. Served as Managing Director of Tourism Development Corporation, Commissioner Gujranwala Division and as Member of Capital Development Authority and Planning and Development Board of Punjab. Remained Secretary Minerals Development Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Secretary Forest, Wildlife and Fisheries Department Government of Punjab. Served as Chief Secretary Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir and as Special Secretary Ministry of Interior.
Presently working as Senior Advisor to Ombudsperson Punjab as Head of the Research and Development Wing, engaged in carrying out operational research on maladministration of the Govt. Departments.
Has keen interest in literature and authored a novel “Saga of the Oriental Migrants” which is based on PhD research work.
